Precor next generation console

Precor offers a range of consoles and digital partner integrations designed to enhance user engagement, drive attraction, and elevate the overall ownership experience. Our consoles provide seamless access to a variety of new workouts, virtual outdoor experiences, and top-tier media content. Drawing inspiration from today’s most popular fitness trends, our latest console models bring a unique Precor twist to workouts such as HIIT and heart rate training. Regardless of their fitness goals, users are offered visual motivation and guidance, encouraging continued participation and ensuring they stay engaged. Below are a few key projects I contributed to, including the launch of the NGC and the development of new UX/UI features.

Machine Control: quick keys

“As an exerciser I want the ability to quickly change my desired workout parameters (speed, incline, resistance) as defined by equipment type, with a simple input option during a workout.”

Quick Keys are numerical inputs displayed on the screen that allow users to effortlessly modify their workout parameters—such as speed, incline, or resistance—without needing to interact with the physical controls, such as the incline or speed handles. The concept behind Quick Keys is to provide exercisers with easy, on-demand access to these controls at any time during their workout. Users can choose to display or hide the Quick Keys on the screen based on their preference. When selected, tapping a Quick Key will immediately adjust the corresponding workout parameter. Additionally, users have the option to customize the placement of the Quick Keys on either the left or right side of the screen, accommodating both left- and right-handed users and offering a personalized experience tailored to each individual’s needs.

New Workout: Calorie Burner

“As an exerciser I want the ability todo a calorie focused workout that allows me to set my calorie goals and intensity and track my intensity zones with on screen coaching”

The Precor Calorie Burner workout is a standalone program designed to help exercisers achieve their calorie-burning goals by providing real-time motivation and feedback. This workout introduces a new calorie tracker dial, building on the training zones framework used in the Precor Heart Rate Workout. However, instead of heart rate ranges, the zones in this workout represent "calorie zones," guiding users to stay on track and reach their calorie targets. Additionally, this project included in-person user experience research (UXR) testing to refine and optimize the workout.

These images were created for the default carousel displayed when the machine is idle. The carousel is designed to highlight the console’s key features, such as custom Heart Rate workouts, media and entertainment options, and personalized HIIT workouts. Intended for global use across all machine types, these images were developed using a combination of design tools, including Figma, Illustrator, and Photoshop. The visuals are crafted to not only showcase the console’s diverse capabilities but also engage users, providing a visually compelling overview of the features available to enhance the workout experience.
